It has become so impersonal

Words will always describe to you what someone's thinking, but they will never convey the feelings within them. You don't know if there's really a smile behind that emoticon or a tear behind every laughter, sometimes I think that over the years things have become increasingly impersonal. Someone once told me she hated talking about relationships on the phone because it didn't feel real. I remember telling her that she was being silly and thinking too much, but now I know more than ever what she meant. It's become just words on a screen, I can't see or feel anyone behind them.
